Washington, DC [Nov. 7, 2019] –National Cherry Blossom Festival leaders, DC officials, sponsors, and stakeholders joined Wednesday evening at District Winery for a preview of the 2020 National Cherry Blossom Festival (March 20-April 12).

At the launch event, the 2020 official artwork was unveiled (pictured belowt). The artwork was created by Matt Long, a Frederick, MD-based artist and graphic designer. The 2020 Commemorative Poster featuring the artwork is now available for purchase.

“The broad range of cherry blossom colors, the radiant energy among spectators, and the fragile beauty in these little flowers are a few of the experiences that inspired this piece,” Long said. “It was important to me to capture the essence of spring, but in a different light and energy.”

Organizers announced the Capitol Riverfront as the new location for Petalpalooza, held during the final weekend of the Festival on April 11. The free event will bring three stages of live music, a beer garden, and a fireworks show to its new home in Southeast DC’s The Yards.
